New images of centrifuge cascades for enriched uranium production in North Korea send strong bid for attention

Publication of images of centrifuge cascades for the production of enriched uranium in the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea (DPRK) or North Korea send a strong bid for attention ahead of the US presidential election in November. “The DPRK has succeeded in miniaturizing its weapons stockpile and is moving to a logical and practical ongoing weapons program”, says nuclear engineer and analyst Bob Kelley.

Bob Kelley is a nuclear engineer with extensive experience in nuclear weapons programs and non-proliferation efforts. He spent over 35 years working in various capacities, primarily with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), before moving into international roles.
