Panellists
Ilan Goldenberg, Director, the Middle East Security Programme, Centre for a New American Security, Washington DC, is a foreign and defence policy expert with extensive government experience covering Iran’s nuclear programme, including as a Senior Professional Staff Member on the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee covering Middle East issues, and as a Special Advisor on the Middle East and as the Iran Team Chief in the Office of the US Under-Secretary of Defence for Policy.
Hans-Jakob Schindler, Senior Director, Counter Extremism Project (CEP) in New York and Berlin, serves as the Co-Chair of the Advisory Board of the Global Diplomatic Forum (GDF) in London. He has served as Team Coordinator of the ISIL (Da’esh), al-Qaida and Taliban Sanctions Monitoring Team of the United Nations Security Council, and as First Secretary for Political Affairs to the security forces at the German Embassy in Tehran as well as Special Advisor to the Ambassador.
Kelsey Davenport, Director for Non-proliferation Policy, Arms Control Association in Washington D.C., is focusing on the nuclear and missile programmes in Iran, North Korea, India, and Pakistan and reporting on these areas for Arms Control Today. She is the lead author of the P4+1 and Iran Nuclear Deal Alert newsletter, which assesses developments related to the 2015 JCPOA with Iran, and the North Korea Denuclearization Digest that tracks efforts to negotiate with North Korea over its nuclear weapons programme.
The event will be moderated by Tariq Rauf, Atomic Reporters Board Member and former Head of Verification & Security Policy Coordination at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
